Approaches to Response to Comments: Navigating the Nuances
10/19/2023 - 10/19/2023 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM PST
Event Description
Developing an approach to responding to comments on CEQA documents not only requires legal and technical expertise but is nuanced with practical considerations. Overall factors to consider when developing responses may include agency policy, project controversy and political context. How do you avoid CEQA recirculation criteria triggers, artfully address gray areas, and identify information the public should have had to allow for meaningful review of and comment on the document? How do you decide on a document development process that is efficient and tailored to the project and anticipated numbers of comments? This workshop will present and explore approaches to developing responses to comments and provide an interactive discussion to help you navigate the nuances.
Panelists: Nicole Williams, Managing Director, ICF; Shay Humphrey, Senior Manager, ICF; Mary Lynn Coffee, Partner, Nossaman LLP. Moderator: Stephanie Parsons, President, CreativEnvironment Group LLC
