The Northern Nevada Optometric Society invites you to dinner at Ruth's Chris Steakhouse on Thursday, March 7. Drs. Jamison Engle, Steve Chang, and Caleb Morris of Nevada Eye Consultants present Cataract, Refractive, and Cornea Surgery updates and will share case studies. We'll discuss LASIK, ICL, LAL, PRK, CAIRS, and more, as well as OD/MD compliance issues in the co-management of patients for elective procedures.

Steve H. Chang, a Board Certified Ophthalmologist and fellowship trained cataract and refractive surgeon, is highly regarded by his patients and colleagues. He has been featured in several local and national news broadcasts, highlighting his expertise. He also teaches and writes extensively and participates as an investigator in numerous studies to help advance patient-centered eye surgery research. As a result, he uses only the most up-to-date procedures that are proven techniques for delivering highly personalized optimum results. Dr. Chang was heavily recruited to Nevada Eye Consultants through the most prestigious eye center in San Francisco, where he was the full-time Director of Cataract and Lens Surgery. He was considered one of the Bay Area's most advanced cataract and refractive surgeons, having performed thousands of procedures utilizing the most advanced technology lenses and techniques. He was the only certified ICL surgeon in San Francisco, receiving the Visian ICL Award of Excellence and being featured on multiple newscasts locally and nationally for his expertise. Dr. Chang is honored and excited to bring his care and services to the Northern Nevada population. Dr. Chang received his B.A. with Honors in molecular and cell biology at UC Berkeley. He continued his work at New York Medical College, where he received his medical doctorate. He then pursued further work at Cornell University, followed by an Ophthalmology Residency at New York Medical College, where he worked with pioneers in corneal and cataract surgery and was elected the Chief Resident. Dr. Chang then completed an additional year of specialized training in cornea, refractive, and cataract surgery at the internationally renowned Assil Eye Institute in Beverly Hills, CA. He is one of a select group of elite surgeons who have undergone this extra training to become a refractive and cataract surgery specialist. Dr. Chang believes in the power of refractive surgery and understands the life-changing results as he underwent LASIK over 10 years ago.
Dr. Chang lives in Reno with his wife and two children. He enjoys skiing and playing baseball, basketball, and golf in his spare time.
Dr. Jamison Engle is a fellowship-trained corneal surgeon who completed his B.S. with honors and medical school training at the University of Iowa. After completing his internship year at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, he traveled across the country to start a one-year NIH-funded research fellowship at The Jules Stein Eye Institute at the University of California, Los Angeles. Dr. Engle remained at the prestigious Jules Stein Eye Institute, where he completed a rigorous Ophthalmology residency training program while training with several leaders in the field of Ophthalmology. Following residency, Dr. Engle completed a fellowship in cornea, cataract, and refractive surgery at the University of Colorado, widely known for its strength as one of the top clinical fellowships in the country. Dr. Engle has published articles on topics from the use of femtosecond laser in ocular surgery to corneal topographic analysis. Dr. Engle lives in Reno with his wife and three children. He thoroughly enjoys the Reno-Tahoe area and all of its outdoor opportunities. He also enjoys photography and travel. As a native Iowan, Dr. Engle loves to cheer on his Hawkeyes!
Dr. Caleb K. Morris is a Board-Certified Ophthalmologist specializing in corneal and cataract surgery at Nevada Eye Consultants. After graduating cum laude from Brigham Young University, he attended medical school at Duke University School of Medicine. Dr. Morris continued to the Baylor College of Medicine, where he completed his ophthalmology residency. Following residency, Dr. Morris joined the Pepose Vision Institute for an anterior segment fellowship, which included training with one of the pioneers and current leaders in cornea and refractive (LASIK) surgery. Before being recruited by Nevada Eye Consultants, Dr. Morris established the first cornea and refractive practice in Kalispell, MT, providing vision-saving treatment to many patients in underserved areas of Northwest Montana. Dr. Morris is highly experienced in caring for the front portion of the eye, and he can perform intricate corneal transplant procedures customized to each patient’s unique needs. He is committed to offering high-quality, personalized care — whether a patient needs a cornea transplant or cataract surgery. Dr. Morris works closely with each individual to understand their concerns and recommends the most beneficial solution based on their goals.
When not helping patients, Dr. Morris enjoys spending time outdoors with his wife, Courtney, and their three children. They are excited to call Nevada home.
