CAMEO, it’s not just for hazmat.  CAMEO® (Computer-Aided Management of Emergency Operations) is a system of software applications used to plan for and respond to chemical emergencies. It is developed by EPA and NOAA to assist emergency planners and responders with chemical and all-hazards planning. CAMEO can access, store, and evaluate information critical for developing emergency plans. Participants learn the basics of the four (4) components of the CAMEO Suite (CAMEO Chemicals, CAMEODM, MARPLOT and ALOHA). Participants first learn the software operations, and then how those operations may be used in a variety of emergency events that could occur in the local jurisdiction, such as Wildfires, Chemical Releases, Terrorism Events, and Severe Weather Situations. This course does not require each participant to have access to a computer during the course delivery but having one would enhance their learning.
