Event Description

The theme for this year’s MIX conference is “Educate, Evolve, Empower: Navigating the Digital Frontier in Library Instruction.” Our information atmosphere is ever-changing, and with the advancement of digital technologies, our approaches to library instruction need to evolve.

This event is a one-day, low-cost, informal learning opportunity for librarians across Michigan who engage in, are interested in, or are curious about library instruction. Join colleagues from academic, public, school, and special libraries to gather, connect, and discuss our instructional strategies, issues, and ideas.

We encourage professionals from all disciplines to attend – and consider whether you are interested in leading your library colleagues in discussing these topics!
The MIX 2024 planning committee invites proposals for: 

  • Individual or group presentations
  • Panel discussions
  • Workshops
  • Guided, participatory discussions
  • Sessions will be 45 minutes and should include 5-10 minutes for Q&A.
Possibilities for session topics include: 
  • AI
  • Critical Thinking
  • Digital Footprints
  • Digital Literacy
  • Digital Tools
  • Information Literacy
*Please note: Because of the nature of this grassroots event, we cannot waive the registration fees for presenters.

Proposals are due by June 11, 2024, and notifications will be sent out by June 18. All proposals will be blind-reviewed by the MIX Conference Planning Committee. To apply, complete the proposal form.
