SDMBA Mount Laguna Trail Fest 
October 18-20, 2024

Camp - Ride - Eat - Repeat

Join us for a lively yet intimate gathering of our trail loving friends riding rad bikes, sitting by the fire, sleeping in tents, and sharing good times presented by Sierra Nevada Brewing Co.  Ride the beautiful rolling meadows and woods of Big Laguna Trail with a guided group or explore on your own. Sit in the shade and soak in the Mount Laguna vibes at El Prado Group Camp with a cold Sierra Nevada beverage for those 21+.  Bike Demos from Ibis, Specialized, Trek, Turner, Marin and Polygon. Vendor Village, Cool Activities, Guided Rides, Fun with Sprockids San Diego,
Outdoor Traditions Tattoo, and more!  Delicious food from Julian Beer Co. and The Outpost by Valley Farm.  Coffee available from ROAST! West Coast.  Clinics by Sprockids and Ride Pine Flow licensed coaches! Shuttle Rides for Noble Canyon from TREK also available!  Live music on Friday night!  Movie night on Saturday!  Scavenger Hunt with Bikes Online Racing and other surprises to be announced!

A Festival Pass is required for everyone attending the event. There is NO WALK UP Registration for this event.

Festival Pass includes:

  • Camping at El Prado Group Area or Horse Heaven Camping (vehicle parking in these areas requires $50 parking pass)

  • Bike Demos from Ibis, Specialized, Trek, Turner, Marin, Polygon and Canyon! 

  • Entry to Vendor Village

  • catered meals by Julian Beer Co. (Friday dinner) and The Outpost by Valley Farm (Saturday dinner and Sunday brunch)

  • 3 beer tickets for 21+

  • Guided rides and other activities

  • 1 opportunity drawing ticket

  • Time in the mountains for shenanigans with friends  

ADD-ONS:

  • $50 Parking Pass(required for each vehicle parking in El Prado or Horse Heaven)

  • $20 Shuttles with Trek for pick up at the lower Noble Canyon Trail Head 

  • $20 MTB Skills Clinics with licensed coaches for $20 each

CAMPING OPTIONS: Camping at El Prado Campground or Horse Heaven Campground is included in a Festival Pass for Friday and Saturday nights.  A $50 parking pass is required for each vehicle parking in El Prado or Horse Heaven.  We encourage you to stay with us both nights and to carpool! 

El Prado Group Campground is close to the action and consists of 4 camping areas with plenty of room for your tent set up.  All camping in El Prado is first come, first served in designated group camp areas.  Vans, small campers or rooftop tents are acceptable but there is no room for motor homes or trailers in El Prado Campground for this event.  Because of the layout of the area and as parking is limited, we may need to ask you to park your car away from your camp area but still within El Prado Campground.   Hot tip:  Wagons are great for getting your stuff to your chosen camping area!

Horse Heaven Group Campground is located approximately ½ mile from El Prado Campground. Access the venue area by hitting Lightning Ridge Trail and then through Mount Laguna Campground to El Prado to join the fun.  Ideal for those wanting a quieter option or space for extended family or larger groups of friends. A small number of trailers or motor homes under 24 feet may be accommodated. No hookups.  Probably not ideal for those with small kids. 

Attendees are responsible for bringing all necessary camping equipment to ensure a comfortable and safe stay. While some food is provided with registration, attendees are responsible for bringing the majority of their own food and anything else needed for a fun and safe weekend. 

PARKING:  Parking is very limited at this event!

GRAB YOUR CARPOOL BUDDIES NOW!  In an effort to go green and ensure we maximize the very limited parking available, each vehicle parking in El Prado or Horse Heaven will be required to purchase a $50 parking pass during registration. No cars can enter El Prado Campground or Horse Heaven Campground without a parking pass. 

If you plan to park remotely and ride into the event here are some suggestions. Mile Marker 19/Sunset Trail Head, Penny Pines, Agua Dulce, Red Tailed Roost.  Adventure Pass required for some areas) and ride into the venue at El Prado Campground. See detailed map for alternate parking HERE.
 


Refund Policy:

Please consider your reservation carefully, as there are no refunds or rollovers to following year for this event. 

Due to the amount of money allocated to vendors and contracts signed, we cannot offer any refunds or deferrals. Because this is a charity event, your registration fee, should you not be able to attend, will be tax deductible as a donation.

SDMBA and/or the USFS reserve the right to cancel or re-schedule an event in the event of inclement weather, emergency, government shutdown or natural disaster/Fire. In the event of such a cancellation, there will be no refund of entry. SDMBA reserves the right to modify or cancel the event for safety concerns, trail condition concerns or natural disaster. Each participant must accept any such risk of their entry fee paid.  Entry fees collected are used to develop and produce the event, starting well in advance of the event date – including course/venue preparation, supplies, permits, and administration. We will make every effort to produce a safe event for all participants. Any decision we make that impacts the event date or potential cancellation is carefully considered and based on the overall event safety, sustainability, and manageability.

NOTICE: While our special permit with the US Forest Service is currently in process with the US Forest Service. The USFS does have the right to disallow the event for unforeseen circumstances such as Fire Restrictions/Forest Closures.  We will keep everyone in the loop in a timely manner if necessary. 

No refunds will be issued.


A portion of the proceeds from this event will be used to support the trail improvements and new trail development in the Mount Laguna Recreation Area in partnership between SDMBA and the Cleveland National Forest. SDMBA operates under a permit on the Cleveland National Forest. Find more information on the project HERE. Remaining proceeds generously provided by your participation allow SDMBA to continue with trail projects and advocacy efforts throughout San Diego County.
