About the Lead Instructor

The Instructor for CNSLT 300 will be Russell Morgan, CAC.

Russell Morgan possesses over 38 years of agricultural consulting experience, providing farm business advisory services and financial / economic analyses. In his consulting practice, Russell views his role as one of an educator. He touts himself more an advisor than consultant; aiming to teach clients How to address a matter (advising), rather than only providing a solution to the current matter (consulting)..

Prior to starting a private consulting firm in 2003, Russell was employed as an Area Specialist in Farm Management with the University of Kentucky (UK) Cooperative Extension Service. In that role, he provided supervised accounting and farm management consulting services to cooperating farmers in far Western Kentucky. Cooperative Extension is literally defined as “extended education”; a significant portion of Russell’s assignment was one-on-one and group education. While on staff with UK, he co-authored and/or participated in peer-reviewing various extension publications. In addition, Russell was tasked with presenting extension programs on a variety of topics including farm accounting, farm financial analysis, income tax rules for farmers and USDA programs impacting farms (e.g. new farm bills). While in graduate school, he taught a senior level farm management course while his major professor recovered from surgery. Educational instruction has been interwoven with Mr. Morgan’s endeavors throughout his career.
